Shana and I took at jaunt to Topanga yesterday, for a some sisterhood hang time with Hedi, who just returned to the mainland, so it was time for a post birthday celebration, and what better gift than to craft and create together.
When we arrived, she was preparing fresh juice made with saffron and rose-water, and the tea-pot was brewing. she had prepared her studio for a candle making party. The plan was to hand make candles with herbs and resin, then light the flame, hold a prayer in our hearts, and set our intentions for the summer.
Even though we were there to celebrate her, she makes you feel like she is celebrating us, that is the beautiful thing about Hedi, and the space she holds.
It was another reminder of feeling blessed to be creating with so many inspiring friends.
Hedi designs beautiful woven hand bags, co-creating with a small and local Peruvian tribe. Her line Purple Agave is sold at Bazar on Abbott Kinney in Venice.
