It's just days away as we officially siren of the longest day of the year.
How will you be spending your Summer Solstice and thereafter?
We Sage’s will finally be getting some down time, and we are SO excited!!. It’s been quite a fast moving year for us, and while this time frame means packing up for a stream of camping trips, we’ve decided to stay local for the next month or so, to get some well deserve relaxation in, while the season kicks in. This means more time to share with you on all the things we love the most.
In lieu of our Ayurvedic practice, summer is Pitta season. Pitta is the body’s fire principle; such qualities like hot, light, mobile, sharp, and oily are predominate. Pitta governs the heat in the body and it is primarily responsible for digestion, transformation and intelligence. Pitta is more common for the body and mind to suffer from conditions resulting from aggravated pitta during the summer months. As it gets hotter, pitta-type physical imbalances such as inflammations, infections, skin irritations, hyper-acidity, heat rashes, are likelier.
While most westerners are conditioned to work harder in getting in shape during the summer months. Building heat in workouts may cause an adverse reaction in your physical practice, and therefore losing vital nutrients we need during these months.
Ayurvedic practitioners advise us to be restful and slow down. Noting it is more beneficial for our bodies to take in more restorative exercises, while eating less with more cooling foods such as cucumbers and watermelons.
Coming up... We are super thrilled to share two more stories before months end. We chatted with Majestic Songbird Ayla Nereo, also known as Wildlight.... and the wonderful Teague Weybright, head of Urban Gardens Farming.
After the Mercury retrograde goes direct after July 1st, our website will be more on a weekly posted schedule. Monday thru Friday. Keep checking in and share the Sage LOVE!
